Oh Me Oh My - Lulu

In the US, "Oh Me Oh My..." ranked as high as #4 in Birmingham, Alabama in November 1969 but nationally charted only as a moderate Easy Listening hit at #36. Several performances by Lulu on US television helped break "Oh Me Oh My..." into the Billboard Hot 100 in December 1969 and then buoy the track as it gradually gained momentum to become Lulu's first Top 30 hit since "To Sir With Love" at the end of February 1970: "Oh Me Oh My..." would peak at #22 that March (Cash Box ranked the track with a #18 peak).

Hot Love - T. Rex

Hot Love" is a song by the British glam rock band T. Rex, released in 1971. It was the group's first number one on the UK Singles Chart, where it remained at the top for six weeks beginning in March 1971; it was also the first song to feature Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman (ex-Turtles) on backing vocals, the single, however, did not fare as well in the US, where it only peaked at number seventy-two on the Hot 100.

The Day Before You Came - Blancmange

The Day before you came was a hit for ABBA in 1982. In 1984, two years after the song's original release, the first cover version of "The Day Before You Came" was released by British synthpop duo Blancmange. The cover charted at No. 22 in the UK singles chart and was included in that year's Mange Tout album. Blancmange's version included a slight lyrical alteration. Instead of referencing novelist Marilyn French as the ABBA original does, Blancmange singer Neil Arthur sang "I must have read a while, the latest one by Barbara Cartland or something in that style".

I Think it's Going To Rain Today - Dusty Springfield

"I Think It's Going to Rain Today"  is a song written by Randy Newman. It has been recorded by numerous people. Here is my favorite version from 1968 by Dusty Springfield. It's absolutely beautiful. Enjoy.

Ma Baker - Boney M

Ma Baker is one of the greatest dance/disco hits ever recorded. It was the first single of their second album Love for Sale and their third consecutive chart-topper in Germany and their best yet placing in the UK, peaking at #2 (only surpassed by Donna Summer's "I Feel Love") although only a minor single in the US (#96).

One Way Ticket - Mama Cass Elliot

One Way Ticket is one of the best songs Cass Elliot has ever recorded. It shows just how grand her voice was and it is just one of those songs that can really lift your spirits if you are having a bad day.
